Android tablets come in so many sizes as you would like. Take the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. This tablet with 10.1 inch screen was announced simultaneously with the Galaxy Note 3 and Gear.

Like the Galaxy Note 3 Note 10.1 is also equipped with the new design with leatherette back and ribbed metallic edge that is modeled on the pages of a notebook.

Like for example the larger Samsung Tab tablets is also in Note 10.1, the home button on the device to the long side of the screen. This encourages Samsung use in landscape mode, said leatherette back quite comfortably in the hand. But it is certainly for longer periods not like to keep.

Note 10.1 has the same software as the new Note 3, the Multi Window mode most comes into its own. This allows the screen to be split, with each half on an app.

the big screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, two apps comfortably and without loss of functionality to be used side by side. Thanks to the same quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon chip 800 is the Note 10.1 pretty rap.

Nevertheless, a lack of specially adapted apps a stumbling block for such large tablets. Android apps are often made on a phone screen of four to five inches. That scales well to 7 inches, but 10 inches you have the idea that you’re stretched to apps to watch.

That lack Samsung tries to catch some with their own apps, such as My Magazine. That Flipboard-like news app uses the entire screen and is always accessible by swiping.

LG was away from the tablet market, but with the 8.3 inch G Pad 8.3 back. The tablet tablet has a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels which at that size produces a pixel density of 273 ppi.

That makes the LCD screen of the G Pad 8.3 looks excellent. Everything is sharp and the colors are nicely full and yet not exaggerated.

The tablet is clearly designed in line with other recent Android LG products, such as the G2. The large rounded corners also very similar to the Nexus 4 that LG developed with Google.

The back of the G Pad 8.3 is metal, and it feels very pleasant. The tablet is clearly designed to be used to erect and its weight of 338 grams is also no problem for longer periods. However, the stereo speakers placed on the back as they correctly when watching video supine in the right stereo position.

Although the G Pad 8.3 is not equipped with the latest chip, the 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor 600 of the tablet are very cooperative. Android feels smooth on the tablet, even with the skin that LG has put it.

the G Pad 8.3 wipe your not from app to app, but you have a three-finger swipe left immediately the home screen for you. By then with three fingers to swipe to the right you get a list of all the apps you’ve used recently.

G Path 8.3 is available, from the fourth quarter of this year the price is still unknown.

black gray material very sensitive to fingerprints. And for long-term retention is the soft rubber back of the Nexus 7 still pretty unbeatable. The tapered edges of the Fonepad 7 however feel very well.

But Fonepad 7 is in a slightly different category. The device, for example a screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. This ensures a 7 inch size for a pixel density of 216 ppi.

calling tablet runs on a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor. That does not feel very fast, but certainly not slow. Besides the call function is primarily the large speakers prominently on the front of the Fonepad 7.

How much should go to the Fonepad is not yet clear, though the price is not very high to go. The large phablet comes on the market in November. Meanwhile, the Nexus 7 this week
