At IFA 2013 we have them all viewed up close , but today, the new Platinum tablets Archos only officially launched. The second generation consists of three models, the 97b, 80b and 101 Platinum

Earlier this year Archos introduced the first models in the Platinum series, including a 9.7-inch model with high resolution display and an 8-inch model. Today these two tablets are replaced for new models and adds a 10.1-inch version to the range.
Archos 97b Platinum HD
The top model of the series is still the 9.7-inch version, the 97b Platinum HD. This model is actually equipped with an IPS LCD display that has a resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels. This is the same resolution as Apple’s third and fourth generation iPad. In addition, the tablet with a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor with a clock speed of 1.6GHz.
Furthermore, the Archos 97b Platinum has a Mali 400 graphics processor, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage memory that can be. expanded through a microSD card Also, the microUSB port to host and slave function is missing, there is Bluetooth 4.0 and dual-band wifi, and we found on both the front and the back a 2.0 megapixel camera back. For connection to a display, the tablet has a mini HDMI port, but also can link wirelessly using Wireless Display.
terms of software has the Archos tablet with the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. At the appearance and functions of Android Archos has changed little. However, a number of apps included, including Archos’ own media applications and the Office Suite Viewer. The tablet is 9mm thick and with an aluminum casing that weighs 640 grams.
Archos 80b Platinum
smaller is the 8-inch Archos 80b Platinum. This model is also equipped with an IPS LCD display but with a lower resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels. Also, the tablet doing with 1GB of RAM and a VGA camera on the front. The other specifications match, though the tablet weighing 440 grams lighter and with a profile of 9.9mm thicker.
Archos 101 Platinum
The largest model in the series is the 10.1-inch Archos 101 Platinum. This tablet also features an IPS LCD display but no high resolution as the 9.7-inch model. This tablet has to do with a resolution of 1,280 by 800 pixels. However, the tablet is equipped with 2GB of memory and other specifications are also consistent with the 9.7-inch version. However, the 101 Platinum is the only of the three tablets that standard has a GPS module. The tablet has a weight of 636 grams and is 10 millimeters thin.
Price and Availability
Archos has not yet officially announced prices but at IFA 2013 we heard from the company that the 8-inch 80b Platinum a list price around 169 euros is given, the 101 Platinum for to get around the 229 euros to Netherlands and 97b Platinum HD will retail for probably 279 euros. All three tablets appear in November on the Dutch market.
