Although sales of 14.6 million copies over the last quarter is still huge, Apple itself is not such a cheerful number. It means, namely a loss of 14 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. The revenue loss is thus 27 percent, or $ 6.4 billion.

The cause for the declining numbers is both Apple itself and outside the company. So Apple has announced new hardware this fall and probably present, which often means that the existing instances are much harder to sell. A new version of the iPad Much more important is that the competition is not sitting still led by particularly Samsung. Tablets with the Android operating system have become a formidable rival to Apple with its iOS. And where the price of an iPad is consistently high, take tablets of a steady flight down.

As the market becomes saturated, Apple will increasingly have to consider a pricing strategy to larger parts of the copper market to speak.
