"Acer is working on 8-inch Iconia tablet W4 with Windows 8.1 '- Tablets Magazine

Acer early this year brought the first manufacturer to a small Windows 8 tablet in the form of the Iconia W3. This model, however, in many reviews outset amortized and so it is waiting for a successor. This would soon be launched under the name Iconia W4-820.

Acer Iconia W3-810 is the first 8-inch Windows 8 tablet that was launched but has a mediocre display and disappointing performance promises never deliver. There were then immediately rumors about a successor that would be presented at IFA 2013 but also there was silence. Still, Acer seems to have a successor ready stand in the shape of the Iconia W4-820.

the Iconia Acer W4-820 choose according to new rumors again for a 8.1-inch size, but this time it’s an IPS LCD display that for better viewing angles and higher brightness should provide. The display should be provided with the same resolution as the first generation; 1280 by 800 pixels. Furthermore, the tablet feature the recently announced Intel Atom Z3740 processor which we find in the Toshiba Encore and ASUS Transformer Book T100 .

The processor is accompanied by 2GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage memory, a microSD card reader, a microUSB port and a microHDMI connector. In front of the Iconia W4 would find a 2 megapixel camera, while the rear is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera. The current model has to do with a 2 megapixel camera on the back. In terms of the tablet software runs on Windows 8.1 and Office 2013 Home & Student Edition included for free.

Acer Iconia W4-820 has not been officially announced but is expected to happen sometime in the next few weeks. The price of the new tablet should be between 299 and 329 euros.
