Dutch read fewer books on tablet - Personal Computer Magazine

Fewer Dutch use their tablets as digital reading book, according to figures from market researcher GfK. Last year las forty percent of the Dutch tablet owners have a book on their device, but this year that number dropped to 23 percent.

is striking that the vast majority of the books on tablets are not paid. According to GfK is the case for about 88 percent of digital books. Converted to all selling e-books, e-readers and tablets so this means that on each carrier only 1.6 legally purchased e-book is, counting Boekblad.nl.

At present, there are approximately 925,000 e-readers in circulation in the Netherlands and are sold throughout 2013 a total of a quarter million. Tablets are, however, much more: at present there are 4.1 million tablets in circulation and there come the end of the year to 1.8 million. This means that more than seven times as many tablets sold.

as e-readers

GfK thus concludes that the tablet e-reader is not to supplant. There seems to exist a considerable market for active e-reader users. The decline in the number of people reading books on a tablet points here also. Meanwhile, the digital book market continues to grow, 4.5 percent of the books sold is digital
