Acer Iconia A1-830 is the first Android tablet from the Taiwanese manufacturer, which is equipped with an Intel chip. Unfortunately it is not yet a chip off the Bay Trail family but an Atom Clover Trail variant. This replaces the MediaTek MT8125 processor that we encountered in the previous version. Furthermore, the tablet features a 7.9-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage memory and a microSD card reader that the memory can be expanded. On both the front and the rear is a camera.

Although Acer during the presentation of the tablet indicated that this standard would run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, we can see from the video that Android 4.4 KitKat has already been completed. Whether the tablet will be provided from the shop KitKat or that this version made available through an update is not yet known. An overview of all specifications and features can be found on the product page of the Acer Iconia A1-830 .

Iconia A1-830 should be from March in the Dutch shops are for a suggested retail price of 169 euros. You’ll get the WiFi-only version with 16GB of storage memory.
