Watching television on tablet unpopular - Tablet Guide

More and more consumers are using the tablet and other mobile devices to watch on television. According to the latest figures, this group increased by 25% last year. Nevertheless, it is a very modest share of only 1.5% of the total television market.

According to research from Thinkbox, the marketing agency for the British commercial «le television. According to the researchers, we looked at last year an average of 3 hours and 55 minutes per day to our tube. That’s a small increase of 12 minutes per day compared to 10 years ago.

Of the nearly four hours that we spend every day watching TV, we bring  98.5% of the time behind the â?? traditioneleâ?? TV screen. The remaining 1.5%, accounting for average of three-and-a-half minutes per person per day, we turn to our mobile devices: tablets, smartphones and laptops. In 2012 this share was 1.2%.

Lindsey Clay, Chief Executive of Thinkbox, suggests that this trend in the coming years will not change significantly. â?? New screens make watching TV more enjoyable for us and provide new opportunities for advertisers. But as we learn, the more obvious it is to us that television still our favorite way of watching TV will remain, especially now that video-on-demand (VOD) services are increasingly becoming available on the big screen â ??, says Clay.

VOD

The latter finding is striking. Another study by Thinkbox shows that VOD services are then viewed on the TV. Much more often on mobile devices According to that study looks â?? Slechtsâ?? 37% of viewers VOD on television. The largest share, 45%, use the PC to look for VOD services 14% a tablet and 4% of their smartphone.
