Improved iPad mini with sharper display is still expected this year already. That says market researcher NPD DisplaySearch in a revised forecast.
Earlier researchers had expressed the expectation that Apple will not succeed this year with retina display to bring. a small iPad on the market Problems affordable mass-producing such displays would be the main cause. Also, the higher power consumption, which has a larger battery and thus a thicker casing is needed, they would be obstacles.
NPD DisplaySearch got to the forecast return, reports the American IT news site CNet. Retina display offers four times as many pixels
The current iPad has a mini touchscreen of 7.9 inches with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. That makes the picture somewhat “grainy.” A retina display has such high resolution that the human eye at normal viewing distance can distinguish individual image dots. In the case of the iPad would be a doubling of the resolution in both length and width, which is four times as many pixels yields at constant screen size.
