The 7.9-inch tablet from Acer has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels (162 pixels per inch). That’s despite the relatively low price. It is an IPS display that should provide better viewing angles and high brightness.

The tablet has an aluminum finish while most models are made at the price of 169 euros from plastic. The Iconia A1-830 weighs 380 grams. Quite normal for this size tablet. The thickness amounts to 8.15 millimeters, thinner than other cheap tablets.

There is a 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom Z2560 processor and 1 GB of memory in the tablet. Furthermore, Acer promises a battery life of 7.5 hours, but under what circumstances is not known. The storage capacity is 16 GB and can be extended. With an SD card of up to 32GB

The rear camera can record videos in full HD (2560 x 1920 pixels) and the front camera records video in 1600 x 1200 pixels.

the British press release is called the price of 169 euros, although that has not yet been confirmed for the Netherlands. Also at the launch date at the end of February, the Netherlands is not specifically mentioned.


Iconia B1

Acer smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2, weighs 147 grams, has a 1.3 GHz dual core processor and only 4GB of storage. Whether this is to extend, is not known. The camera has 5 megapixels. According to Acer the pixels are quite large so that more light is captured. That should provide better performance in dark situations. The Z5 is the Benelux available from mid-January.

At CES, Acer also shows the already earlier announced W4 Acer Iconia, a Windows 8.1 tablet. This product comes in late January to Europe with a price tag of 299 euros.
