Air iPad has an aluminum design, is about 2 millimeters by 7.5 millimeters thinner than its predecessor and weighs 454 grams . According to Apple, it is the lightest tablet with a 9.7 inch screen. The iPad Air features an A7 and M7-coprocessor chip that detects movement. Both the chip and M7-coprocessor are already present in the iPhone 5S (review).
The new tablet is eight times faster than the first generation iPad and graphic area 72 times as powerful. Furthermore, the iPad Air with twice as fast wifi speeds, a 5 megapixel iSight camera that supports 1080p FaceTime . In total, the tablet has a battery life of ten hours.
Air iPad will be available in the space gray and silver. The prices of the iPad Air start at 479 euros for the WiFi model with 16 GB of storage. From 1 November the new tablet available in the Netherlands. The 4G model has a price tag from 599 euros for the entry-level model.
The iPad 2 will be available for a suggested retail price of 379 euros.
Besides the iPad Air, Apple introduced the iPad mini 2. The tablet has a smaller 7.9 inch retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1568 pixels. Also, the smaller ipad A7 is provided with a chip which brings the same improvements with regard to the speed and graphical power. Furthermore, also features the iPad mini 2 about twice as fast wifi speeds, a 5 megapixel iSight camera for FaceTime video in 1080p and a battery life of ten hours.
Like the Air, the iPad mini iPad 2 also available in gray and silver space and starts the price of the smaller iPad at 389 euros for the WiFi model with 16 GB of storage. Apple calls “later in November” as the release date. The 4G model starts from 509 euros for the 16GB version.
